Resist.......

I couldn't resist these shirts for our girls.  We are all so very excited.  Yesterday, the egg roll asked me if we were going to get her sister.  The wait will be 'long' again... sigh.....  we are working on it  little dumpling... hang in there....

Weather.....

The egg roll and I have been under the weather this past week.  We just about had enough of the coughing and 103 fever.  Poor egg roll, she just wasn't herself and couldn't really tell me what she wanted.  She finally ate what I would call a 'meal' today after a week of pretty much nothing. We have been doing antibiotics, steroids, and breathing treatments.  The final diagnosis was bronchitis and pneumonitis.  I can see the light at the end of the tunnel today.  She perked up to do  some 'homework' which she had assigned herself.  We are hoping for a better weekend.  Love to all!

Something to ponder.....

I read this blog post by an adoptive mother who is also a gifted author and speaker. The post is called "After the Airport." And if you're pondering adoption or preparing for your journey, you must read it. I found the post to be extremely honest and insightful.
It is easy to get caught up in the beautiful homecoming moments. But when all of the excitement dies down, many challenges are present. Many days can be really really difficult.  I am thankful that Jen has shared her heart in this post so honestly and openly.

Who is visiting your house?

We have had some very interesting visitors at our house lately.  Don't be fooled these guys get around.  They can be found in many strange places.  They are caught doing the wildest things.  Their names are:  HoHo,  Ega,  Hoppy Bunny, and Purple Orsin. Yes, we have some holiday pals too! They have been spotted in the potty.  They weaseled their way into 'time-out'.  They can fly.  They can play.  And best of all, they can be blamed for wrong-doings!  It has been an absolute hoot!  Oh, how we have missed having imaginary friends at our house.  The last visitors were named:  Noni, Lime, Mango, Leli, and Iggy.  "G" had some amazing times with that group.  Here's to many happy memories in your house!

Say it isn't so.....

of course 'T' likes to help with the festivities!

the requested bamboo plant

new chair for the room--comfortable!
No way, no how.  It is just not possible.  I can't wrap my head around the idea that my little boy is a teenager.  He is by far the sweetest 13 year old that I know.  Happy Birthday 'G'!  We love you!

Legacy of an Adopted Child

Once there were two women...Who never knew each other...
One you do not remember...The other you call Mother...
Two different lives...Shaped to make you one...
One became your guiding star...The other became your sun...
The first one gave you life...The second taught you to live it...
The first gave you a need for love...The second was there to give
it...
One gave you a nationality...The other gave you a name...
One gave you talent...The other gave you aim...
One gave you emotion...The other calmed your fears...
One saw your first sweet smile...The other dried your tears...
One sought for you a home...That she could not provide...
The other prayed for a child...And her hope was not denied...
And now you ask me through your tears...
The age-old question unanswered through the years...
Heredity or environment...Which are you a product of?...
Neither my darling, neither...Just two different kinds of Love...

On this day....

On this day two years ago, after a long four year wait, you were placed in our arms!  You were a scared little girl who desperately needed a family.  You have brought us unspeakable joy and unbelievable happiness.  Your infectious laugh and cute grin make everyone around you smile!  We love you little 'T'!  We couldn't imagine life without you.  You are definitely worth every moment of waiting (sometimes not so patiently).  God has taught us many things through the miracle of your adoption.

Happy Gotcha Day!!!!

Happenings...

this is what going to school looks like!
An impromptu concert?  This is what takes place when your brother brings home his new sax!  We were so excited that we just had to join in the fun! I wish that I would have gotten a picture of the sax too.
